Former Education Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh is heading to the Energy Ministry in a crucial appointment announced on Thursday.
One of his deputies at the Education Ministry, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum will now serve as the substantive minister, pending Parliament’s approval, a statement issued by the Office of the President has revealed.
Similarly, Member of Parliament (MP) for Okere, Daniel Kweku Botwe has been sent to the Local Government Ministry whiles the Ablekuma West MP, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful is maintained as the Communications and Digitisation Minister.
Also, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has elevated his two former Chiefs of Staff, Samuel Abdulai Jinapor and Francis Asenso Boakye to substantive ministerial positions. Whiles Mr Jinapor goes to the Lands Ministry, Mr Boakye has been assigned to the Housing Ministry.
But in a surprising exit, former Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Maafo, former Housing Minister, Samuel Atta Akyea, former Railway Development Minister, Joe Ghartey and a host of others did not make it to the list of new ministers who will be serving in the second term of President Akufo-Addo.
