It’s Akufo-Addo Again – EC declares winner of 2020 Presidential poll

Incumbent President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been re-elected for another term of four years, starting in January 2021.

The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) emerged the winner after a fiercely contested election in the history of the Fourth Republic.

According to the Electoral Commission, Mr Akufo-Addo polled 6,730,413 of the total valid votes cast as against 6,214,889 by the Ex-President and Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December 7, 2020, Presidential Election.

However, the President-Elect would have to work with a narrowly controlled Parliament after losing several seats to the opposition NDC.
