The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) has launched an appeal calling for the dismissal of 14 WASSCE students to be reconsidered.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) dismissed the students and barred them from taking the rest of their papers after they went on rampage in which school properties were destroyed.
The students’ action is in response to alleged strict invigilation during the Integrated Science paper in the ongoing examination.
Although it has condemned the vandalism by the students, the mother students union is calling for the dismissal decision to be relooked at again by the GES.
“That the GES takes cognizance of the times we find ourselves and its already undesirable consequence on students i.e. the COVID-19 pandemic and its psychological effects on students,” the statement issued by NUGS read.
