The five-member Interim Management Committee (IMC) set up to steer the affairs of the Students’ Representative Council at the University of Professional Studies, Accra will have two months within which to conduct fresh elections if on-campus academic work resumes in September 2020.
Although members of the Committee have the full powers of elected SRC Executives, they will have no choice than to make the necessary arrangements for the conduct of a new poll if in-person lectures starts.
These injunctions were contained in letters of appointment addressed to members of the Committee by the Dean of Students on Monday.
“On behalf of the Management of UPSA, I wish to inform you that you have been appointed as the Interim Chairman of the SRC to assist steer the affairs of the Council until substantive SRC executives are elected based on the understanding that you have been a class representative for some time,” the letter addressed to Nartey Prince Wade read.
