Two Ghanaian lawmakers and 13 staff have tested positive for the coronavirus that is tearing through the country.
The lawmakers and their staff were told about their status after they had gone through the compulsory testing exercise directed by the Speaker of Parliament last week.
The revelation was made by Minority Chief Whip, Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka.
Earlier, the Director of Public Affairs, Kate Addo, had said reports about Covid-19 cases in Parliament were false.
But the senior lawmaker said a total of 15 staff, including two legislators have contracted the virus.
Ghana’s Covid-19 cases now stand at 7,117 with 2,317 patients recovering.
