Ex-Dean of the Faculty of Law at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Ernest Kofi Abotsi is heading to the University of Professional Studies, Accra.
Mr Abotsi has been appointed the Dean of the Faculty of Law after the bizarre story surrounding the exit of the former Dean, Professor Kwame Frimpong.
UPSANEWSROOM.com‘s sources at the University of Professional Studies, Accra have disclosed how Professor Frimpong was nearly forced out of the office after his contract with the school expired.
The Professor of law is said to have received letters from the university with some cautioning him to pack out of the office before.
UPSANEWSROOM.com has learnt his relationship with the university management grew sour to the extent that his last presence at the school’s Board meeting almost turned into a shouting match after he stood to share his handing over note.
But some have claimed the university led by Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, refused to renew his contract because of his age.
However, Mr Abotsi is coming on board as a young person.
Ernest Kofi Abotsi graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon, the Ghana School of Law and the Harvard Law School in the United States. He has over 13-years’ of experience as a lawyer.
