The ban on public gathering will be in place until May 31st, 2020.
The extension was announced by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Sunday during his ninth Covid-19 address to the nation.
“The ban on public gathering has been extended to the end of May, 2020,” the President told Ghanaians.
The ban on public gatherings was announced after the country recorded its first two cases of coronavirus infection in the middle of March.
All conferences, religious gatherings, seminars and mass funerals have been suspended.
Also, schools both private and public have been closed.
There were rumours that the President would lift the ban despite the rise in coronavirus cases.
But President Akufo-Addo said the ban is effective until May 31, 2020.
