The embattled Head of Banking and Finance Department surrounded by his controversial article

The University of Professional Studies, Accra says it will probe a plagiarism allegation levelled against the Head of Banking and Finance Department.

Dr Edward Atta-Botchwey is alleged to have produced a piece he did not originate and had same published by some news portal under his name.

The claim was first made by a social media commentator who upon subsequent engagement by UPSANEWSROOM.com‘s Oheneba Nana Osei Kumi failed to substantiate it.

However, the claim gained currency when some other online news portal carried the story, leading to the decision by the university to investigate the matter.

In a statement issued by the school and sighted by UPSANEWSROOM.com Wednesday, the university says it will invite Dr Atta-Botchwey in the spirit of fairness to provide his side of the issue.
