UPSA to set up 24/7 rapid student support desk during online exams

The University of Professional Studies, Accra will set up a dedicated desk during the online examination to support students who may have difficulties either downloading their Take Home Assignments (THA) or sending same.

The rapid help desk will run uninterrupted for twenty-four hours on each day, UPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey has said.

The Vice-Chancellor made this revelation during a meeting on videoconferencing platform, Zoom held on Wednesday with the leadership of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) and Course Representatives.

The Second Semester examination at the University of Professional Studies, Accra will be starting on May 18, 2020.

The examination will be in the nature of Take Home Assignments and students will have 48 hours within which to transmit their responses either through the virtual platform or dedicated course email addresses.

Already, students have grave issues with the virtual platform which has been described as nothing but discriminatory and problematic.

In order to ensure that students do not face any of such issues during the period of the online examination, the university management has decided to dedicate a help desk to attend to all manner of needs.

“We expect to have a 24-hour service for people to contact whenever they need support [so] contact them if you have an issue in the course of the 48 hours [within which to send your responses],” Professor Okoe Amartey said.
