‘You won’t submit take home work to lecturers personally’ – UPSA VC clarifies

UPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra says submission of the Take Home Assignment (THA) in the upcoming online examination will not be submitted to the lecturers personally.

Instead, Professor Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey says dedicated email addresses will be created for the school’s over 500 courses for the purposes of submission of the assignments.

“You will not submit to the lecturers’ personal email,” he said, adding students will have the luxury of uploading their work on the virtual platform or the dedicated course email addresses.

Professor Okoe Amartey was reacting to claims that some lecturers have rejected a proposal for students to submit their assignments to their personal email addresses.

Some lecturers at the University of Professional Studies, Accra are reported to have said they will only accept submission of the take home assignments through the virtual platform.

But reacting to the claim during a Zoom meeting with leadership of the SRC and Course Representatives Wednesday, Professor Okoe Amartey says students can either send the assignments through the virtual platform or a dedicated course email address.

Touching on the dedicated course email addresses, the Vice-Chancellor said: “the system will be structured in the way that if you submit [the assignment] it will give you an automatic response.”
