Ghana has recorded its first death from the coronavirus Saturday.
The deceased is a Lebanese male trader in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
He had reported to a health facility with fever and cough this week.
Deputy Health Minister, Alex Abban, disclosed the news to an Accra-based radio station.
“The information I got from the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service is that that person [the Lebanese man] has died. He died today,” the Minister told Citi FM.
Ghana has so far recorded 19 cases of coronavirus infection since the first two cases were announced last Thursday.
