All church services, funerals, conferences suspended over coronavirus

Government has rolled out measures to address growing cases of COVID-19 in Ghana

The government has suspended all major activities in the country, including church services, conferences and funerals until further notice.

This measure was announced by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Sunday as part of a detailed plan to address the growing cases of coronavirus infection in the country.

Ghana records a total of six cases of coronavirus infection

There are currently six cases in Ghana.

The six cases are reported to have been in contact with over 200 persons who are being traced by Health officials, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has said.

As part of the second round of enhanced measures to combat the virus, the President has directed the suspension of all funerals, church services and conferences for a period of four weeks.

Also, “all Universities, Senior High Schools, and basic schools, i.e. public and private schools, will be closed Monday, 16th March 2020, till further notice.”
