UPSA LSU Electoral Commission announces upcoming polls, urges competition

The election of leaders for the Law Students’ Union of the University of Professional Studies, Accra will take place in the coming days, the LSU Electoral Commission says.

The Commission in an undated statement sighted by is encouraging competition for the various positions available.

The statement signed by EC boss, James Aaporakuu said the Commission is putting in place the necessary measures to conduct a free, fair and transparent election.

The upcoming election will be the third in a series of elections held since the Union was established.

However, the enthusiasm of students toward activities of the LSU in the school has been “pathetic and low,” a final year law student told Thursday.

In a bid to encourage competition in the upcoming election, the Electoral Commission has called on law students, especially those who qualify to contest for any of the positions to pick the nomination form when the process begins.
