The Assin Central legislator has decried happenings in the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) saying it does not reward hard work of members.
Outspoken Kennedy Agyapong said the party is replete with many “ungrateful” members who choose money over hard work and sacrifice.
“Hard work is not rewarded in [the] NPP party,” he said on The Hot Seat on Net2 TV last Thursday.
“We are rewarding political prostitutes,” he said.
The Member of Parliament (MP) was reacting to media reports about the missing 500 excavators seized from some illegal miners.
He said he had warned the NPP delegates in the Central Region to vote against Horace Ekow Ewusi is the party’s suspended Vice Chairman there.
Mr Agyapong said he had wanted on Chairman Kuti to lead the party because of the work he had done for members in the region.
“He is the first chairman to move from polling stations to talk with them – I was shocked with the Central Region – the man did well and all of a sudden they changed – they don’t reward hard work,” an angry Mr Agyapong said.
“The debts [he] incurred – are you people so ungrateful?” he asked
The MP said he is worried about the prospects of those party members who are currently unemployed and suffering if the party went into opposition.
“The sad thing is that when we are in opposition those enjoying [today] won’t suffer,” he said.
