UPSA SRC slams false allegation, justifies sale of free GLO sim cards

UPSA SRC President Peter Zuma

The Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Professional Studies, Accra has parried the claim that it is selling free GLO sim cards to students.

Describing the allegation as “false and erroneous,” the student council said it is rather offering students a sim card with calls and internet benefits worth GH¢10 at only GH¢5.

In an undated statement signed by SRC PRO, Aryee Nii Ayi Rahman, the council said: “in the interest of students, the SRC beat down the price to GH¢5 for the package, including free sim cards.”

There are claims that the SRC is extorting money from students by selling to them GLO sim cards meant to be free.

But the SRC said it rather negotiated a deal that is in the best interest of all students.

“The SRC calls on students to disregard the allegation which is without basis and a total delusion to students of UPSA,” the statement concluded.
