At least two foreign nationals – a Chinese and an Argentine – who are on admission at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital have reportedly developed some symptoms of coronavirus.
The pair who have been living in Ghana for some days have been sent to an isolated facility to have them checked, UPSANEWSROOM.com has learnt.
The Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) has been called up to take blood samples from the two patients and have same examined.
This revelation was made by the Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association, Greater Accra chapter, Dr Winifred Baah Wednesday.
Dr Baah explained the Chinese came to Ghana sometime in September 2019 while the Argentine, who was living in Shanghai, joined the Chinese in Ghana in January 2020.
“They’ve all developed some symptoms that fit the case definition [but] it doesn’t mean they have the disease,” he cautioned.
