The Eminent Advisory Committee of the Electoral Commission is expected to meet with the Electoral Commissioners and members of the Inter-party Advisory Committee (IPAC) over the compilation of a new voters’ register.
The Commission’s decision to compile a new voters’ register ahead of the crucial 2020 General Elections has displeased the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and other smaller parties who have staged various protests across the country.
In a letter issued Friday, EC spokesperson, Sylvia Annoh, said the “meeting will seek to engage the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC).”
The said meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 30, 2020, the statement read.
