The compilation of a new voters’ register ahead of the 2020 General Elections will start on April 18, UPSANEWSROOM.com has learnt.

The exercise is expected to end on May 30, 2020, the Electoral Commission has revealed.

After the compilation, the new register will be exhibited to the general public from August 15 to August 28, 2020.

The decision by the Commission comes hours after a coalition of some political parties held a demonstration in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region in opposition to the compilation of a new register.

EC Deputy Chairperson in charge of Operations, Samuel Tettey has revealed a total of 8,000 registration devices would be deployed to cover the 32,000 polling stations across the country.
