Social media commentator, Kelvin Ebo Taylor, faces contempt charges over comments allegedly made against an Appeals Court judge, Kyei-Baffour for his elevation to the second-highest court of the land.
The outspoken commentator had alleged the judge was promoted because of his role in the trial of a case regarding the embezzlement of $4 million belonging to the National Communications Authority (NCA).
The warrant was issued on Thursday, UPSANEWSROOM.com has learnt.
“As a judge of impeccable integrity and utmost honesty, I find it necessary to invoke the powers vested in me under the constitution to proceed and cite him for contempt. I issue a warrant for him to be produced before the court to show cause why he should not be committed to prison,” Justice Kyei-Baffuor explained the reason for the arrest warrant.
