Akufo-Addo’s macho bodyguard now Ga chief

President Akufo-Addo with the newly-installed chief Nii Ayi Quaye I and the Gbese Mantse

One of the loyal bodyguards of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been enstooled as the chief of Alajo, a suburb in Accra.

Known in private life as Alhaji Mohammed, the personal bodyguard of the president would now be known as Nii Ayi Quaye I.

The traditional rite was performed by the Gbese Mantse who also doubled as the Adontenhene of the Ga State in Alajo with the president as the guest of honour.

It was held at the Alajo school park on Saturday, January 4, 2020.

Alhaji Mohammed has been one of the personal bodyguards of president Akufo-Addo while he was in opposition right to his election.

It is not clear if he will combine his role at the Jubilee House with that of his traditional functions.

But there are reports that he will no longer guard president Akufo-Addo because of his enstoolment seen by many as an elevation.
