Ex-coach of the senior national team, Kwesi Appiah says he has worked to lay a “strong foundation” required for the Black Stars to return to winning ways.
In a statement Sunday, the former Black Stars player and coach shared his optimism about the future of the senior national team.
“Through the years I was in charge, I worked with my backroom staff to lay the strong foundation required for others to build on, towards a better future and success for the team,” he said.
Kwesi Appiah’s contract expired on December 31, 2019, ending his time as the coach of the Black Stars.
There were rumours that the new Ghana Football Association (GFA) administration was considering renewing it but this was dashed after the football body released a statement dismissing the technical teams of all the national teams.
Mr Appiah was affected but he believes the time has come to move his career a notch higher.
“To the fans and the nation, thank you for all the support even in difficult times,” he concluded.
