The Parliament of Ghana is considering bulletproof curtains as part of measures to beef up security in and outside the Chamber.
The move is aimed at protecting the Members of Parliament while inside the House.
This was disclosed by Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Aaron Oquaye on Tuesday.
“It will interest members to know [that] the [Parliamentary Service Board] is seriously considering a bulletproof glass curtain to block the chamber for the upmost protection of Members in and out of the Chamber,” he told the MPs.
The Speaker also announced a string of projects that are expected to be completed in the coming year, including a visitor’s center.
